But more Samsung in Plus and TSMC in 6S
It looks like that iPhone 6S and the Plus have an equal overall part of the processors from TSMC and the Samsung factories.
Less than a week ago a developer that goes under the name hirakujira has developed a CPU identifier that can tell if your phone has the TSMC or the Samsung manufactured SoC inside.
The overall there are some 20590 Samsung manufactured SoC and 21259 manufactured TSMC that have been tested on this app. This tells us that some 50.8 % of tested phones have TSMC made SoC while the 49.2 % have the one from Samsung.
The picture changes when it comes to a specific phone. The iPhone 6S Plus has definitely more Samsung SoCs, some 16478 of tested devices while the TSMC was present in 11206 phones. Samsung gets the 59.52 % of all Plus phones shipped leaving TSMC with 40.48 %.
Since hirakujira app only tested some 42000 phones so far and this is definitely just a rough estimate based on rather small test model.
The situation changes with the iPhone 6S. TSMC clearly ends up in much more iPhone 6S phones and it was found in 10053 of them. The Samsung SoC was present in 4111. TSMC gets whooping 70.98 % market share according to the app leaving Samsung with 29.02% of all tested phones.
