Gionee has just launched a larger version of its flagship Marathon M5 smartphone called the Marathon M5 Plus at an event in Dongguan, China, just a few days before the end of the year.
The Marathon M5 Plus keeps the same design as its smaller brethren but now features a larger 6-inch AMOLED display at a higher full HD 1080p resolution. Its other main feature is its massive 5020mAh battery that supports fast-charging and which the company claims will give the device a two-day battery life. Gionee has also equipped the Marathon M5 Plus with dual charging chips that not only make charging more efficient but also safer.
The company has also added a USB Type-C connector and a home key fingerprint sensor to the larger Marathon M5 Plus.
On the inside, the Marathon M5 Plus is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 1.3GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. It can also support two micro SIM cards with 4G connectivity and dual standby support as well as a microSD card for expanded storage up to 128GB. Lastly, the Marathon M5 Plus is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus will be available on Christmas, December 25, both through online and offline retailers for a price of 2499 Yuan.
