Canadians come up with a bendy phone

Bendier than the iPhone

Ever since Apple came up with a smartphone that bent, everyone wants to copy them. Now a team of researchers have come up with ReFlex which they claims is the first true bendable smartphone.

The Human Media Lab at Queen's University (Canada) came up with the idea. It uses a 720p Flexible OLED from LG Display and on top of the display are a plastic touchscreen and bend sensors. It runs Android 4.4, has a battery on one side, and uses a SoC.

The ReFlex's software actually uses the flexibility is used to create new input methodsand you can control eBooks, games, and other things by bending the handset.

Roel Vertegaal, a professor, says the ReFlex is already in a condition that's ready for mass production, but no one from his team is going to make the phone a consumer product. He thinks that someone will pick up the project and probably tie it into a bow.
