Two top executives flee Intel

Two top executives flee Intel

Can't keep them

It looks like Intel's shake-up is not every Chipzilla exec's cup of tea and two longterm executives are leaving.

Kirk Skaugen, Intel's senior VP in its Client Computing Group is leaving the company for a new job elsewhere, according to an internal memo released today. He previously ran the chipmaker's Data center and Connected Systems Group during a period that its sales grew from $6 billion to $10 billion a year. His last day will be April 8. Navin Shenoy will takeover.

Doug Davis who should be happy at the giant's move to things like internet of things because he was the general manager of the Internet of Things unit, is also leaving after 32 years with the chip giant. Before the IoT group he ran part of Intel's manufacturing operations in  Arizona as well as its efforts aimed at netbooks and tablets. A successor in the IoT group was not named; Davis's last day will be at the end of the year.

Rumours are that the little Chipzillas are not happy lizards as many question the logic of getting out of mobile chips and the fact that the company is going to gut its staffing levels. Management is being forced to watch a video where the supreme Chipzillas are demanding that they sell the redundency to their increasingly miffed staff.
